Ruth Lytton,
Ph.D., is Associate Professor of Financial Resource Management at Virginia Tech
and Program Director of the family financial management program, a Certified
Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. registered program. Her personal finance course is a popular
elective for students throughout the campus.
Dr. Lytton received the 1994-95 College of Human Resources
Certificate of Teaching Excellence and in 1995 was recognized by the
Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education (AFCPE) as the Mary
Ellen Edmondson Educator of the Year.
In 2001 Dr. Lytton was recognized with the College of Human Resources
and Education Excellence in Undergraduate Student Advising Award and the Virginia
Tech Award for Excellence in Career Advising. Dr. Lytton has published research in several journals and was
co-recipient of the Association for Financial Counseling and Planning Education
(AFCPE) 1999 Best Conference Paper Award with Dr. John Grable. She co-authored the Student Study Guide and Instructor's
Manual that accompany the first (1998) and second (2001) editions of Personal Finance: Turning Money Into Wealth by A. J. Keown.
